HI, Check http://www.hppondandpatio.com/Uniloc.html you can view each block / paver and specs from there
There are many differences between menards/home depot block and Unilock Block.
Here are a few: Color Bleed : the color in a cheaper block is sprayed on the top of the brick. After enough foot traffic the block simply looks like concrete. Unilock block color is in the mic itself almost the entire block is colored. Unilock is gauranteed to hold its color for life.
Aggregate : The size of the aggregate/gravel is also very different. In cheap blocks the cement mix is mostly sand and very small aggregates. When cutting a Unilock block in half you can see there are aggregates nearly 1/2 in size. This can also be demonstrated by dropping each block from head height. Cheap blocks shatter in half, Unilock block bounces...
A simple way to demonstrate the differences is this: a pallet of cheap block weighs about 1000-1500 lbs. A pallet of Unilock weighs 3000 lbs and up for the same face footage.
Check www.unilock.com for mroe info..
