i set up my pond for winter like you told me, is there something special i was supposed to do with the original pump?

hey Meg, it should be in the basement in a bucket filled with water. This is done so the seals do not dry and crack

| I always wonderd about that,when you put your pump in the water and take it out you have to store it in water to protect the seals,but when you get a pump new in the box that has been sitting for who knows how long what protects the seals then? |

thats a good ?, it is because the new pumps have never been wet. The seals expand when they become waterlogged making them more effective. if they dry out however, they crack
